Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) #1
What is a Capital Stewardship Program (CSP)?
A CSP helps our church realize power of a faith-based response to the financial challenges of our church.
It will guide us in an enriching experience of spiritual discovery that will improve each person's Christian walk in faith at the same time increasing our financial support of the church and building program.
We have name our CSP "All Things Possible!".
Why are we starting "All Things Possible!" now?
Limited auditorium space and limited classroom space are major obstacles in realizing our vision of reaching people and helping them follow Jesus.
The leadership at GCF has concluded that waiting for the perfect economic circumstances is not an option.
We feel compelled to act and to trust God for our vision.
Who decides what the needs are?
Back in 2003, The Program Ministries Team (led by Tracy Sims) submitted a 100-page assessment outlining recommendations.
From this resport the Design Team (led by Dan Morehouse) developed a priority list of what we should build.
What was the priority list of what we need to build?
- Atrium (completed)
- Children's Education (completed)
- Nursery (completed)
- Office (temporary relocation completed)
- Auditorium
- Adult Classrooms (unfinished 2nd floor!)
How do we raise funds to expand our space for ministry growth?
We don't raise funds! It's a matter of each of us partnering with God in a spiritual journey.
In November, we will ask everyone to make a pledge to give sacrificially based on their commitment to the vision God has given.
How much are we trying to raise in pledges from "All Things Possible!"?
We raised $1.3 million in pledges in our three-year "Growing Grace" campaign (2004-2007). Our goal is the same in this campaign.
What can we build with $1.3 million?
- We would like to expand our auditorium to the east and add 68% additional seating. This would include a new stage, lighting, and sound equipment.
- Install an elevator and wrap-around stairway to the second floor creating a small lobby and exit to the outside (adding 750 sq. ft.).
- Reconfigure the nursery and nursery room.
- Finish one adult classroom on the second floor (2,400 sq. ft.).
- Install a grand staircase to the second floor balcony near the front doors. Balcony would have a new "see-through" rail with lounge chairs overlooking the atrium.
The Information Center would be relocated under the staircase.
When does the "All Things Possible!" campaign begin?
We will launch our campaign Sunday, September 19 at both morning worship services.
What happens during the launching?
It starts with Pastor Steve sharing the vision, followed by an opportunity for each of us to join a campaign team that will take care of the numerous
details surrounding our "All Things Possible!" campaign over the next 10 weeks.
How can I be a part of "All Things Possible!"?
Response forms have been mailed out to the entire church. Extra copies are available in the back of the auditorium.
Sign up for a team that interests you. The team leader will call you and explain how you can serve and let you know the time commitment.
