What is expected of a student?

The class is designed to be "college-level," and has homework including readings, oral reports, and study. Students are highly encouraged to participate in the homework. The focus of the class is to help people discover the Bible for themselves, not for them to be told what to believe.

Who can enroll?

Absolutely anyone with a desire to learn more about Christianity and the Bible.

What does it cost?

A $10 donation is requested to help cover the cost of books and materials. Scholarships are available to those needing them.

Do I have to start with any particular class? What if I only want to take one of the classes?

Students can begin at the beginning of any trimester, or could take only one or two of the classes.

Why does Grace offer the Institute?

While knowledge of the Bible does not guarantee that one will grow spiritually, it is hard to grow in our relationship with God without a fundamental understanding of God's primary means of communication (i.e. the Bible). We believe a good understanding of the Bible is crucial to Christian maturity. However, maturity is more than just knowledge. It is allowing the Holy Spirit to change your life based on this knowledge. The Institute provides a starting point for this maturity to happen.

Who Teaches the Institute?

The primary teacher is Ken Carson, an member of Grace Community Fellowship. However, guest speakers and student presentations are used to provide expert teaching, and/or alternative perspectives.

Can I take classes on-line or over the World Wide Web?

We do not currently offer any correspondence or on-line courses. This web site is desinged primarily to supplement the on-campus course. Nonetheless, others are more than welcome to review the class notes and follow along on the homework assignments on their own.
